Direct intervention:

At The Other Side of Play, we believe in a collaborative, holistic approach to create results. We work closely with our clients and their families to create individualized treatment plans that address your child's unique needs and strengths. Our priority is providing current evidenced based treatment that empowers the child and family. We provide a variety of services in the home and natural environment/daycare setting. This includes early intervention for children age 0-3, developmental delays, ADHD, dyslexia, Autism, anxiety and more. We are in network with all Medicaid policies, and offer discounted cash rates as well.

Benefits of Occupational Therapy in Children

Better Social and Play Skills

Occupational therapy can positively impact a child's social skills and play abilities. Therapists may work on communication, sharing, and understanding social cues, which can lead to improved interactions with peers and

increased success in groups and social settings and sports and jobs.

Improved Fine Motor Skills

Occupational therapy can help children develop and enhance their fine motor skills, such as handwriting, cutting, drawing, and manipulating small objects. Strengthening these skills enables children to perform essential tasks more efficiently, such as tying shoelaces or using utensils.

Sensory Processing

Occupational therapy can improve sensory processing with children and adolescents. Helping them regulate their sensory system to respond better to compulsions, impulses, anxiety and intrusive thoughts. Individuals who have a more efficiently regulated nervous system are better able to engage in those challenging daily demands without becoming overwhelmed or avoidant.

Hi, I'm Casey!

I am an Occupational Therapist with a Masters degree and 14+ years experience as an OT and a total of 23+ years working with children. My journey began with a love for children, starting from babysitting and teaching to eventually finding my calling in OT, and have experience in various settings including early intervention, schools, clinics and NICU/PICU.

My school days were challenging due to undiagnosed ADHD, but it wasn't until high school that I got the official diagnosis. I struggled academically and socially during those formative years and understand first hand the hurdles you’re up against.
